Ghost in the Shell

Humans and Cybernetics
Therm-opics Camouflage
Overspecialization breeds weakness
Cyborgs can take over each others minds
Simulated reality, artificially manipulate the memories of an individual to control their actions
Major- feeling, hope, becoming someone else, individuality, purpose, expression of self
Full cybernetic- Puppet master, self aware, appears to contain a ghost but shows no degradation expected with the presence of a real ghost
Puppet Master enters a cybernetic body, self preservation, trying to achieve human standing (reproduction and death)
Puppet Master claims to not be an AI, that he is a free thinking, living entity created in the sea of information
Section 6 tries to recover Project 2501 (puppet master)
Section 6 tries to destroy the body the puppet master has taken over
The puppet master wants to merge with Major Kusanagi to create a new being
The Puppet Master wants to reach a point of being considered a life-form, living, reproducing, and dying
Copying is not the same as reproduction which a computer brain would be capable of
Attaining a body produces the possibility of dying
Merging with the major would be the closest thing the puppet mast could come to reproduction
The Puppet Master's reason for choosing to merge with the Major because he sees more resemblance between them than the Major does.
